  3. He really looks like he’s holding on for all he’s worth!

  4. That little alien will give you a bite you will never forget!! Stay clear – we call them Pine Beetles up here in Canada. They come much bigger too.

Hate those critters… we built a screened-in porch just so I didn’t have to duck and weave from them anymore. lol

All that said – good shot!!

    • That is a pine beetle?? That is what is killing all the trees in the park! Hard to believe that tiny of a guy can do so much damage….thanks so much for letting me know what he is – I’ve been wondering what a pine beetle looks like!

  5. Icky! But that reflection on the metal is awesome.

  6. This is a great close-up — it amazes me how much detail there is in one tiny little bug.

  7. Great macro photo. exciting as it is reflected against.

  9. I’m pretty sure that’s an Asian Longhorn Beetle – they can be just as devastating and when I was searching for a picture I noticed that they are also in CO. They are in a few areas of Long Island and there is a lot of effort to try and contain and eliminate them so they don’t spread.

  10. I don’t know what he is, but this is a fabulous picture. Great DOF.

  11. Another nice find but a little icky!!

  12. It does look alien, great shot.

  13. great reflections and what long antennas, with might he catch up with those 😉 beware!
