110. Dusk

Dusk at the flooded Platte River…the river finally went out of it’s banks today from all of the rainfall we have been receiving.  The road was closed so we parked at a near by park and walked down, we have never seen it this full.  Flooded or not, the Platte is so beautiful at dusk.

  1. bet that must have been a sight worth remembering, Great dusk-photo, I find this months themes hard for me somehow (except the green ofcourse;-) ) so Im waiting to come up with some ideas and hope it will not be to late then…..

  2. Fly rod in hand that would be the perfect place to be.

  3. Beautiful scene!! You have succeeded in putting the viewer right there! Really like the glow of the sun on the water.

Ron is right-looks like perfect fishing time tho I don’t know how fishing is at flood stage.

  4. The last sun rays shining on the water are outstanding. Please send us some of that rain. We are drying out down here.

  5. Hi Tammy,
Awesome picture! We are getting lots of rain too, Been under Flash Flood warnings the last couple of days. Have a great day!

  6. Gorgeous image!! I hope the flooding hasn’t caused too many problems.

  7. It makes for a lovely image but I’m sure it’s a bit disconcerting to see the water rise so high. Hope you get relief soon…

  8. Lots of rain everywhere, my favorite shooting spot is flooded as well.

  9. It appears so peaceful, but if it’s flooded, it’s probably pretty turbulent. Whne we were through Nebraska, seeing the Platte was excitig to us as it played such a big part in the westward migration–something that has always fascinated me. At that time, however, there was a terrible drought, so we saw nothing like this.

    • The Platte is usually so shallow that you can hardly tube down it…so this is really flooded! Lots of rough currents and trees floating down it.

  10. What a beautiful early evening scene!

  11. Wonderful reflections – it’s like a path paved with gold.

  12. when i travelled from Sweden to EStonia I saw something like that…magic..Have a nice sunday, tammy
