103. Morning

This morning this adolescent mourning dove was hogging the feeder…I could even walk out on the deck with the dogs and he just sat there!  He wasn’t going anywhere until the food was gone!

  1. I see more and more of these birds, and yes they do hang around a while.

  2. You must consider, that the Morning meal is the most important of the day, it sets you up for the trials ahead!

  3. Can’t blame the dove for not leaving… that looks like a delicious breakfast! We stopped feeding ours because the bunnies were eating it and I started to worry about the snakes coming to eat the bunnies. Cruel, cruel world.

These are nice clear pics. Maybe these birds have an narcissistic gene since they do seem to like to pose for the camera!

    • Ohhhhh. but think of the pictures you could get of the snake and the bunnies LOL Now that is a photo op!

  4. Morning doves are my favorites. So peaceful

  5. He ate it ALL? Nice photos….

  6. Doesn´t doves have a tendensy to be very friendly? At least when it comes to food 🙂

  7. great captures!

  8. Another one of your incredibel nature shots! You’ve captured the cautious diffidence of the mourning dove.

  9. What nice shots, it looks to be posing.

  10. Great captures Tammy, like that you got them in opposing views.

  11. A great shot. Mourning doves are usually the scardedy cats, so you did good getting one to stand so still.
