48. Blue

More zoo shots….I could have went on and on with BLUE!  All of these were processed in PSE8 w/ simple level adjustments and that’s it.

Blue Bellied Roller: Camera: Canon XSI, Shot in Aperature mode, Lens:  55-250mm, Focal Length:  250mm, Aperture F/5.6,  Shutter Speed 1/250, ISO 400

Fish: Focal Length:  250mm, Aperture F/5.6,  Shutter Speed 1/60, ISO 400

Sky: Focal Length:  18mm, Aperture F/5.6,  Shutter Speed 1/200, ISO 400 (this was also cropped).  Enlarge this one…the whole image is not showing.

  1. Awesome blues. Fabulous image of the bird!! Did you and Val converse on this topic!!

  2. Sorry Tammy you have to go back, you have chopped off its tail, you would not like having that done to you!

  3. I’d like to see more of the tail too! lol

Nice finds and shots to fit the theme, Tammy. Those blue feathers are almost iridescent! Lovely.

  4. the bird is great, so sharp and looks like its begging for a treat. the statue is great alone against the sky

  5. I like your selection of blues! The bird is especially nice, so much detail. Everything about the composition is drawing my eyes up towards the eyes so I didn’t even notice that you hadn’t included the tail feathers in the frame. I love the silhouetted statue too with the great contrail breaking up the vast blue of the sky.

  6. Great images Tammy. I vote for seeing more of the tail, and less of the con-trail.

  7. This is stunning. The focus is spot on. I’m jealous, what a capture!

  8. Tammy, all great images. The bird is a prize winner. There is such detail in his feathers and the catch light in his eye is great. Wonderful!

  9. Wonderful blues indeed, I didn’t notice the tail either just marveling over the detail you got and as Clara said that fine catch light.

  10. Your animal photos just blow me away–you capture the essence of your subject! Really–I’ve never seen anything better in any professional nature magazine.

  11. Those are some fantastic blues! Love the bohek in the large shot!

  12. I love that bird shot – the way he’s looking up seems so hopeful and you did a great job capturing that catchlight in his eye.

  13. Three very well done blue shots. The sharpness and clarity of the bird is wonderful. I love the fish in the aquarium – that can be very difficult to capture. Finally the statue with a touch of light against the blue sky. Once again nicely done.

  14. They are all great shots!! The bird ones are so nice and sharp, with great color! I’m impressed with how you got the silhouette also. 🙂

  15. What a beautiful bird. Amazing colors and textures in these few shots and I like the silhouette against the blue sky. Very very nice :O)
