263. Fabric

I was in a gift shop yesterday and fell in love w/ this fabric pillow. I think I may go back and buy it today, nothing like buying myself a Happy New Year’s gift! lol (my husband will love it)

262. Wrapped

Wrapped under the tree was my new lensbaby Scout lens….Santa (aka my loving husband) was very good to me this year! Since I had Christmas dinner this year, my mom brought over a Christmas Orchid to decorate with….I love the way they wrap their petals around the center of the bloom! I had tons of fun the next day playing with my new lens and orchid!

Many people have asked what is the difference between the scout and the other lensbaby lenses. Basically the scout is just like the composer but it doesn’t move. The sweet spot is always in the center of the image. The scout comes w/ the fisheye attatchment….which I have been playing w/ quite a bit. I like the fisheye especially w/ the scout over the composer since the effect really gets messed up if it is not centered perfectly. Happy Christmas Eve Everyone! I got a early Christmas present today. I had a new (and rather large) visitor at my feeder this afternoon….a hawk! I was just sitting at my kitchen table watching the pretty purple finches and all of a sudden I heard quite the chatter and all the little birds flew away and I then saw these huge wings fly down to the deck. At first I thought it was an owl, but then when I seen it I was in shock (I have never had a hawk on my deck). I grabbed my camera as quick as I could and got 4 shots in before he took off…of course, he had to land behind the corn, but I guess I couldn’t be choosy! I thought hawks only ate small animals….I was amazed to see him pecking at my corn.

As I checked him out, he checked me out too….we had a small stare down going (or he was thinking my camera was food lol)

This Red Bellied Woodpecker (aka Woody Woodpecker) is maintaining her innocence, she swears she is not the culprit who is putting holes in my deck and bird house. I’ll let the jury decide…innocent or guilty??

This statue is one of the muses from Greek Mythology. I added some textures from Shadowhouse Creations and played w/ the topaz simplify filter. I also added a frame.
